I began decorating cakes for family and friends in 1990 and before
long outgrew the small bakery kitchen in my home. Our customer base
was growing as well. We opened our first storefront bakery in 1999
with encouragement, inspiration and help from my dad, as well as
many long, hard hours of work from my family. My mom works everyday
and is in charge of all the catering orders. My daughter has become
the master baker of our cookies and bars . . . sometimes I think she
does a better job than I do. My husband does a little bit of
everything, including wedding cake deliveries. What would I do
without them? . . . I don't even want to think about it. I continue
to personally bake and decorate every cake that goes out of our
door. It requires many hours and long days, but I like it that way.
I like to know that every cake we make is the best it can be.
